Probable Father

Thomas Marshall is almost certainly the son of Randall Marshall. The 1780 will of Randall Marshall named three sons: Joseph, Thomas, and John. Thomas Marshall's will also named his brother John, and he named one of his sons Randall.

Family

Thomas Marshall married Ann Peas ca 1768.[citation needed]

Thomas' will names his brother, John Marshall, and his widow Anne, as well as five sons. His son John was old enough to serve as executor, so was at least 21, and apparently so were his sons Randall and David. William and Thomas were under 15.

Children

  1. John (over 21 in 1790)
  2. Randall (over 21 in 1790?)
  3. David (over 21 in 1790?)
  4. William (under 15 in 1790)
  5. Thomas (under 15 in 1790)

probably a descendant or relative of James Marshall, also of Burlington.

Hi Barry, here is Thomas' will (which names these sons). Do you agree?

He's a strong candidate to be father of my David Marshall.
